Japanese Coormorant communal roost in the Saru-shima Island

There is the Saru-shima island in front of Yokosuka port. Umi-u Japanese Coormorant's communal roost is at cliff in Saru-shima island. The roost site looks white with bird's excrement.

Japanese White-eye was bathing

I saw birds at my parent's house yard. There is a pond for keeping carp and gold fish. Two Mejiro Japanese White-eye was bathing hard there. And they consumed nectar from sasanqua flowers.

Birding on 2011 New Year's Day, Yokosuka

A happy new year!

I am my parent's home at Yokosuka. I was birding on the way in going to see first sunrise new year's first sunrise. It was very cold morning. I saw 18 species of bird there. This is my first birding record in 2011.
